table-top autoclaves
Just as there are large units for large production quantities, there are autoclaves for smaller application volumes, for example table-top autoclaves. A small steriliser is ideal for sterilisation at the workplace so that work can be carried out quickly and efficiently.
A table-top autoclave works on the same basic principle as a pressure cooker. The steam affects a range of objects to achieve sterilisation under overpressure. Table-top autoclaves are fitted with a least a thermometer and a manometer as display instruments. Table-top autoclaves in the latest model ranges with microprocessor control display the temperature and pressure digitally.
Differentiation is made between horizontal and vertical loading into the device. The head version of the small steriliser has no water tank, no pumps, no welded seams because the chamber has been fabricated from one piece. In the case of vertical table-top autoclaves, loading from above enables better utilisation of the diagonal length which is useful for long instruments or measuring pipettes.
