Demineralised water from the tap, by ion exchange.

Two mixed-bed resin cartridges take the salts out of mains water before it ever reaches the chamber, and that is the whole point: what stays behind in the chamber every cycle is what was dissolved in the water. Runs on its own or connected straight to the autoclave. The cartridges are consumables (two per refill), and the filter spanner is in the box.
